Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, sent a message of greetings to His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of New Justiniana and All Cyprus on the anniversary of his Primatial ministry and the commemoration day of his heavenly patron, St. John Chrysostom. The text of the letter is given below.

Your Beatitude,

Respectfully I am sending you my cordial greetings with the anniversary of your election and enthronement to the See of Primates of the Holy Church of Cyprus, as well as with your Name Day.

The Divine Providence and the will of your brothers the archpastors entrusted you with the mission to care for the church of God (Acts 20:28) in the land, sanctified by the feet of the Holy Apostles Paul and Barnabas. Beholding the feats of your blessed predecessors and gaining strength in the prayers of the saints who shone forth in Cyprus, you worthily carry your laborious cross of Primatial service, wholly devoting yourself to serving the Church of Christ and the God-loving flock entrusted to your care.

On this day of celebration I prayerfully wish Your Beatitude spiritual joy, blessed bodily strength and unceasing help from above in your Primatial labours for many and good years.

With respect and love in the Lord,

  /+Hilarion/
