On 21st January 2021 the Patriarchal exarch to Western Europe the metropolitan of Chersonesus and Western Europe Anthony (Sevryuk), during a working visit to Italy, visited the Russian diplomatic representation to the Vatican where he was warmly received by the Russian ambassador to the Holy See and to the Sovereign Order of Malta Alexander Alexeyevich Avdeyev.

On 23rd January, on the eve of the 33rd Sunday after Pentecost, the metropolitan of Chersonesus and Western Europe Anthony celebrated the All-Night Vigil in the Church of St. Nicholas in Rome. Concelebrating with the bishop were the secretary of the Administration of the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy hieromonk Ambrosius (Matsegor) and the rector of the church Father Sergei Voronin.

On 24th January metropolitan Anthony celebrated the Sunday Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Martyr Catherine in Rome. Concelebrating with him were the rector of the church the secretary of the Administration of the parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in Italy hieromonk Ambrosius (Matsegor) and the clergy of the church Father Alexei Maximov and hieromonk Kirill (Porubaev).
