On 23 June 2018, the commemoration day of 222 Chinese martyrs, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas’ church at Golutvin, the Chinese Patriarchal Metochion. In 2016, the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church took decision on the church-wide glorification of the hieromartyr presbyter Mitrofan “and many those who suffered with him and accepted a martyr’s crown in Beijing in 1900.” Their commemoration day is June 10/23.

Concelebrating with Metropolitan Hilarion were archpriest Igor Zuyev, rector of the church; hieromonk Nikolai (Ono), inspector of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute of Postgraduate Studies; hieromonk Kirill (Peregudin), a DECR staff member; and clerics of the church.

Some prayers were said in the Chinese language.

After the Litany of Fervent Supplication Metropolitan Hilarion offered up a prayer for peace in Ukraine and addressed the worshippers after the Divine Liturgy.
