On 16th December 2013, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, currently on a visit to Hungary with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Russian Orthodox Church; Diocese of Budapest and Hungary.

After the Divine service, Metropolitan Hilarion greeted the worshippers and conveyed the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to them. He recalled his time as administrator of the Diocese of Austria and Hungary and wished God’s help to the worshippers, calling them dear brothers and sisters, and donated them small icons of the Mother of God ‘Joy to All the Afflicted.’
