The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church met on February 10, 2011, at the Synodal Hall of the Metropolitan of Kiev.

The meeting was chaired by His Beatitude Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, and attended by Metropolitans Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, Ioanniky of Lugansk Alchevsk, Nifont of and Lutsk and Volhyn, Onufry of Chernovtsy and Bukovina: Archbishops Mitrofan of Belaya Tserkov and Boguslavsk, Mark of Khust and Vinogradov, Vladimir of Pochaev, as well as Bishop Yevlogy of Sumy and Akhtyrka.

The Synod resolved that the Synaxis of the Saints of Kiev be celebrated on July 15/28, the commemoration day of the holy Prince Vladimir Equal-to-the-Apostles.

The Synod instructed Sister Seraphima (Shevchik), chair of the Church and Culture synodal department, to prepare a plan of events to mark the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

The Synod also invited Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to visit the diocese of Kharkov on the 3d Sunday after Pascha, when the 90th birthday of Metropolitan Nikodim of Kharkov and Bogodukhov will be celebrated.
