On 23 May 2010, after the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Laura of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius, the Primates of the Churches of Constantinople and Russia proceeded to the Patriarchal residence and from its balcony addressed numerous pilgrims who arrived to the monastery of St. Sergius to celebrate Pentecost.

His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew blessed the worshippers and said that he had been happy to pray with them.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill said: “The visit of the Patriarch of Constantinople, the Ecumenical Patriarch and Primate of the Church from which we have received faith, is a historic event. Over one thousand years ago the Holy Prince Vladimir received baptism from the Holy Church of Constantinople, and today we rejoice over His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew’s being with us and blessing us. May the Lord keep you! I bless you all!
