On 26 October 2009, Ss Cyril and Methodius Church Postgraduate and PhD Programmes commenced their work.

The first lectures were read to the postgraduate students on the programme of developing vocational competence. The students had interviews in English, were divided into two groups, and commenced their studies in the chosen branch, namely, “management” or “external church relations.”

On 27 October 2009, the full-time students began studies for PhD degree. The first lecture on “The Methodology of Scholarly Theological Studies” was delivered by the Rev. Dr. Arseny Chernikin who told the students about the main principles of composing scholarly theological works at the universities in the Great Britain. The curriculum of the students includes a foreign language, philosophy and methodology of science, and special courses.

The academic year is divided into three terms, the first of which will last till December 18. The students will pass qualifying tests after each term.
