The famous choir of the Sretensky Monastery in Moscow began its tour in Greece with a recital at the Palace of Music in Athens on October 20.

They will also give recitals in Salonika and Veria and participate in the festive celebrations at St. Dimitrios of Thessaloniki’s Basilica on October 24.

The choir consists mainly of the Sretensky seminarians and graduates of the Moscow Seminary and Academy. Among its members are also students and graduates of the Moscow Academy of Choral Singing, Moscow Conservatoire and the Gnessin Academy of Music.

In recent years, the choir has participated in major events in the life of the Russian Orthodox Church. In addition, they sing at Patriarchal services in the Moscow Kremlin and participate in international music contests.
