Metropolitan Hilarion visits Moscow Representation of the Church of Antioch

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, visited on 18 March 2011 Moscow Representation of the Church of Antioch on an invitation of the representative of the Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East to the Patriarch of Moscow, Archbishop Niphon of Filippopolis. Participating in the meeting was also Syrian Charge d’Affaires Suleiman Abudiab.

In a friendly talk, they discussed the present situation in the Middle East and relations between the peoples of Syria and peoples in pastoral care of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Metropolitan Hilarion was accompanied by Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, DECR vice-chairman, and Rev. Ioann (Kopeikin), assistant to the DECR chairman.
