On 16th September 2020, at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, DECR chairman, met with H.E. Mr. Igor Bratchikov, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Slovak Republic.

They were joined in the meeting by Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries, and Archpriest Nikolai Lischenyuk, representative of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly greeted the high guest and congratulated him on his appointment as the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Bratislava. The hierarch told Mr. Bratchikov about the close historical relations between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

The participants in the meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting Metropolitan Hilarion wished Mr. Bratchikov success at his new post and presented him with a memorable gift.
