His Holiness Patriarch Kirill greets Primate of Serbian Orthodox Church with 10th anniversary of enthronement
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia on the 10th anniversary of enthronement and on the upcoming Name Day.
His Holiness Irinej
Archbishop of Peć
Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci
Patriarch of Serbia
Your Holiness,
Beloved Brother and Concelebrant at God’s Altar:
Please accept my cordial greetings with the 10th anniversary of your accession to the high and glorious in centuries Primatial Throne of the Archbishops of Peć, Metropolitans of Belgrade and Karlovci and Patriarchs of Serbia, as well as with the forthcoming commemoration day of Saint Sava, wise in God.
The Lord placed you at the helm of the Serbian Orthodox Church at a special time, when she celebrates such significant dates of her historical being as the eight centuries of autocephaly and the centenary of the reunification and restoration of the Patriarchate.
As the good shepherd who giveth his life for the sheep (Jn 10:11), with your inspirational paternal word and with your prayers you support your long-suffering flock in Kosovo and Metohija, in Montenegro and in every place where the Serbian Orthodoxy is being subjected to attacks. Remaining faithful to the sacred canons and showing zealous concern for the unity of the Orthodox Church, you worthily continue the labours of the great saint – Sava of Serbia.
On this memorable day I am lifting up fervent prayers that the Lord may grant unto Your Holiness spiritual and bodily strength, unceasing spiritual joy and abundant help in your lofty Patriarchal ministry, and unto your God-loving flock – peace and welfare.
With brotherly love in the Lord,
+KIRILL
PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
