His Holiness Patriarch Kirill greets heads of foreign states with Nativity of Christ and New Year
On the Feast of the Radiant Nativity of Christ and the New Year His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent greetings to heads of foreign states of the Orthodox tradition, in particular, to President of Greece Prokopios Pavlopoulos, President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, and President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski. The text of the message is given below.
Please accept my cordial greetings with the Radiant Feast of the Nativity of Christ and with the New Year!
Over two thousand years have passed since the coming into the world of the Son of God Who brought to humanity the deliverance from the bondage of sin and granted hope for salvation and life everlasting. In these holy days the Christmas joy fills the hearts of millions of believers, encouraging them to zealously perform good deeds and strive for spiritual perfection.
It is my hope that the joint efforts of state authorities, the Church and non-governmental organizations will help strengthen the God-commanded moral ideals in the life of people and build up peace, civil accord and mutual understanding.
I wish you good health and aid from the Lord in your further responsible work.
Yours respectfully,
+KIRILL
PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
