Bishop of Ukrainian Orthodox Church meets with Bulgarian Patriarch Neofit

On 9 December 2019, Metropolitan Nikodim of Zhitomir and Novograd-Volynsky, currently on a visit to Bulgaria with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, met with His Holiness Patriarch Neofit of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

They were joined in the meeting by Bishop Gerasim of Melnik, secretary of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church; Bishop Polikarp of Belogradchik, secretary of the Sofia Metropolis, and the staff of the Patriarchate.

The meeting was held in a warm friendly atmosphere.

Metropolitan Nikodim conveyed best regards of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry to the Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church/

Patriarch Neofit noted that he was familiar with the real situation of Orthodoxy in Ukraine and asked to convey greetings and words of support to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, DECR UOC website reports.
