On 8th December 2019, 25th Sunday after Pentecost, commemoration day of the Holy Hieromartyrs Clement the Pope of Rome and Peter the Archbishop of Alexandria, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada, who had arrived in Moscow to lead the celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Representation of the Orthodox Church in America, officiated at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Hieromartyr Clement the Pope of Rome in Zamoskvorechye district.

Concelebrating with the OCA Primate were Archbishop David of Sitka and Alaska; Archimandrite Andrei (Hoarşte), bishop-elect of Cleveland, auxiliary to the archbishop of the Romanian Episcopate of the Orthodox Church in America; Bishop Kliment of Krasnoslobodsk and Temnikov; Hegumen Iona Zaymovsky, cenobite of St. Daniel’s Monastery in Moscow; Archpriest Nikolai Krechetov, head of the Moskvoretskoye deanery in Moscow; Archpriest Leonid Kalinin, rector of the Church of St. Clement; Archpriest Daniel Andrejuk, rector of the OCA Representation in Moscow; members of the American delegation; and Moscow clergy.

The Liturgy was celebrated in the Church Slavonic, English and Romanian languages.

After the divine service Archpriest Leonid Kalinin greeted His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon and presented him with the ‘Unfading Bloom’ Icon of the Mother of God.

The OCA Primate expressed his gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for the opportunity to celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Clement the Pope of Rome and to Archpriest Leonid Kalinin for the assistance in the restoration of the Church of Great Martyr Catherine In-the-Fields – Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America.

His Beatitude presented Fr. Leonid with a pectoral cross to commemorate their conclebration.
