Primate of the Russian Church attends reception in honour of the participants in 2nd Summit of World Religious Leaders in Baku
On 14 November 2019, a reception given on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in honour of the heads of delegations attending the 2nd Summit of World Religious Leaders in Baku took place at the Geidar Aliyev Cultural Centre.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and members of the Russian Orthodox Church delegation attended.
After the reception, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill gave an interview to the AzTV channel. He noted the high level of representation at the 2nd Summit of World Religious Leaders in Baku and added that discussion at the forum ‘has shown that people of faith who belong to different religions and nationalities can find common language, which is based on moral values common to traditional religions. That is why such meetings most certainly facilitate the improvement of relations among nations, consolidation of peace and promotion of interreligious partnership.’
