“The Intransient Power of the Gospel and Its Importance for Today’s Society” was the topic of the 6th Plenary Session of the Christian Interconfessional Advisory Committee which took place in Moscow on the 30th of October 2019.

Among the members of the Committee established in 1996 are representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, Roman Catholic Church, Armenian Apostolic Church, Old-Rite communities, Lutheran, Baptist, Pentecostal and Adventist churches, unions and communities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

Discussed at the sessions and round tables were the following topics: “Following in the Steps of Christ. Being a Christian today,” “Peace-making: the Path of the Gospel,” “The Gospel: Moral Guide in Modern Society,” and “The Gospel and Service to One’s Neighbour (Diakonia).” The participants in the 6th Plenary Session of the Christian Interconfessional Advisory Committee adopted the communiqué and the appeal.
