On September 26, 2019, the Summer Institute for representatives of the Church of England completed its work in Moscow. It was organized by the Ss Cyril and Methodius Institute for Post-Graduate Studies (CMI) and supported by the Russkiy Mir foundation.

The institute organized for the attendees visits to Synodal departments and theological schools of the Moscow Patriarchate, as well as excursions to holy places and historical and cultural sites.

From September 16 to 21, the delegation was on a visit to the Metropolis of St. Petersburg. The institute organized for them familiarization tours to the city’s shrines, including the St. Alexander Nevsky Laura of the Holy Trinity, the St. Isaac Cathedral, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan and the Church of the Saviour-on-the-Blood. At the Youth Department, they had a meeting with representatives of the city’s Orthodox youth. In the course of their visit, the delegation visited Valamo to see the monastic life and order of the Valamo Patriarchal Monastery of the Holy Transfiguration.

On September 22, during the Moscow part of the program, the delegation visited the CMI and the Sretenskaya Theological Seminary. They also saw such shrines as the St. Sergius Laura of the Holy Trinity, the Ss Martha and Mary Convent and the Novospassky and Sretensky Monasteries.

In conclusion of the Institute’s program on September 26, the guests met with the head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
