On 15 July 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with Vladislav Maslennikov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Montenegro. They were joined at the meeting, which took place at the DECR premises, by Andrei Khoshev, a staff member of the DECR secretariat for inter-Orthodox relations.

Discussed during the meeting held in a warm friendly atmosphere were special significance of Orthodoxy in the history of Russian-Montenegrin relations and a number of topics of mutual interest.  Metropolitan Hilarion wished the Russian diplomat success and effective work in Montenegro and presented him a memorable gift.
