Your Excellency, dear Mr. President:

I congratulate you on your inauguration as President of the Republic of Latvia.

Your rich profession and personal experience accumulated during many years will be in demand in the new field of your ministry, while your efforts will promote the maintaining of political stability in the country and affirmation of the intransient ideals of peace, welfare and justice.

I express my hope for your attention to the needs of the Orthodox Christians in Latvia and for the strengthening of cooperation of the Latvian Orthodox Church with the bodies of state authorities of the Republic.

I wish you good health, God’s aid and success in your work.
