On 30 January 2019, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, Metropolitan Antony of Borispol and Brovary, chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, UOC Information and Education Department reports.

Metropolitan Antony was accompanied by Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, vice-chairman of the UOC Department for External Church Relations.

The participants in the meeting discussed the situation in the world Orthodoxy in general and in the church life in Ukraine in particular. Patriarch Theophilos assured his guests of his prayers for the unity of the Ukrainian and world Orthodoxy and said that the Christian wisdom, patience and humility are especially needed at this time of crisis in the ecclesial life. The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem spoke warmly of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, calling him “a unique hierarch and a man of deep spirituality.”

After the meeting with Patriarch Theophilos representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church venerated the Holy Sepulchre and other shrines of the Holy City of Jerusalem.
