On August 19, 2018, the Day of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), met with a group of Christian figures from Switzerland including Rev. Martin Hoegger, Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canon of Vaud; Mr. Olivier Fleury, head of the Swiss branch of Youth in Mission society; and Mr. Gerald Bell, an activist of the Jesus Celebration 2033 project. The meeting took place at the parish house of the church of Our Lady the Joy to All the Afflicted-in-Bolshaya-Ordynka.

Participating in the meeting was also Mr. Philip Champion, DECR secretariat for inter-Christian relations.

A number of issues of mutual concern were discussed. In particular, the guests informed Metropolitan Hilarion about the Jesus Celebration 2033 project intended for a common celebration to be held by Christians of various confessions on the 2000th anniversary of the Resurrection of Christ. The DECR chairman, in his turn, shared his considerations concerning this project and explained the significance of the feast of the Resurrection of Christ for the Orthodox Church.

After the meeting the guests from Switzerland attended the Divine Liturgy at the church.
