On April 19, 2018, DECR chairman, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk had a meeting with the chaplain of St. Andrew in Moscow, Rev. Malcolm Rogers, at the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations. Participating in the meeting were also Hieromonk Stephan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations, and Ph. Champion, DECR staff member.

They dealt with a wide range of issues of mutual concern. Father Malcolm voiced the message of Easter greetings to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Metropolitan Hilarion from Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury. He also thanked Metropolitan Hilarion for the assistance in restoring the historical appearance of the Parish of St. Andrew compound. On September 27, 2017, Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Parish of St. Andrew together with the leader of the Moscow City department for cultural heritage, A. Yemelyanov. On November 17, 2017, an agreement on the restoration of the parish compound was concluded with representatives of the department.

The sides gave a high values to the visit made by Archbishop Justin Welby to Moscow in November 2017 and his meeting with Patriarch Kirill, during which they signed off a Joint Declaration in Support of Christians in the Middle East.

Special attention was given to the present crisis in international relations. Metropolitan Hilarion noted that Christians should exert every effort to promote a settlement of the present situation and the restoration of political peace.
