Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR) has sent a congratulatory message to His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus. The message reads:

I respectfully extend my congratulations to you on the anniversary of your election and enthronement to the apostolic see of Primates of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus and on your Name Day.

In fulfilling the lofty Primatial ministry entrusted to you, you have sought to rely in all things on the Chief Pastor Christ Who has called you to the works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (Eph. 4:12). The years of your Primatial ministry have been marked with Your Beatitude’s special concern for building church life in Cyprus and care for the needs and aspirations of your rational flock.

On this day festive for the whole Church of Cyprus, I prayerfully wish Your Beatitude beneficial emotional and physical fortitude, spiritual joy and long years of service of the Church of Christ.

With respect and love in the Lord,

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk

Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations
