In the morning of October 28, 2017, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia took part in the prayer service for the 10th anniversary of the enthronement of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania celebrated at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Ss Constantine and Helen Equal-to-the-Apostles in Bucharest.

His Holiness was joined in the prayer by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church; His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania; His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav of the Czech Lands and Slovakia; members of the delegations of the Local Orthodox Churches of Bulgaria (headed by Metropolitan Naum of Ruse); Georgia (headed by Bishop Vakhtang of Nikortsminda); Poland (headed by Bishop Jakub of Białystok and Gdańsk), the Albanian Orthodox Church, the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia; bishops, clerics, monastics and laypeople of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Praying at the service celebrated by His Eminence Teofan, Archbishop of Iaşi, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina, were also members of the Russian Orthodox Church delegation.

After the service Metropolitan Teofan congratulated His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel with the 10th anniversary of his enthronement and presented a ‘Hodegetria’ Icon of the Mother of God and a bouquet of roses to him.

After the prayer service, which was broadcast live by the ‘Trinitas TV’ Romanian church channel, the participants proceeded to the Patriarchal Palace. His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel showed to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill a photo exhibition “Patriarch Justinian: Life and Work.”  In 2017 the Romanian Orthodox Church commemorates Patriarch Justinian (1901-1977) as well as confessors and defenders of Orthodoxy who performed their feat in the years of the theomachist regime.

The participants in the celebration attended the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
