His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent his condolences to Bishop Nestor of Korsun over the demise of the renowned theologian and philologist Archpriest Nicholas Lossky.

To: His Grace Bishop Nestor of Korsun

Your Grace:

I sorrow to learn about the demise of the eldest cleric of the Korsun diocese, Archpriest Nicholas Lossky, the renowned theologian and active leader of the Russian Orthodox Church in France, who I knew well and with whom I worked in the field of external church affairs during many years.

He was raised in the family of the outstanding philosopher and scholar and became a worthy successor of his father, a profound researcher of the works of the Holy Fathers. He had done a lot for preaching Orthodoxy in Western Europe and remained faithful to the Russian Orthodox Church while working for the good of her members in diaspora.

May the All-Merciful Lord rest the soul of His newly departed servant Archpriest Nicholas in the mansions of the righteous and make his memory to be eternal.

With condolences,

+ KIRILL

PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
