His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message of greetings to the Archbishop of Peć and Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, on the day of his Krsna Slava  – that is how the commemoration day of a family’s patron saint is called in Serbia. The Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates his Slava on the Saturday of Lazarus. The text of the message is given below.

Your Holiness,

Beloved Brother and Concelebrant at God’s Altar,

I cordially greet you with the Day of Krsna Slava.

The Saturday of Lazarus is a feast that precedes the commemoration of the Passion of the Lord and brings to all faithful consolation and unshakable hope that we will be partakers of the everlasting life in the unfading day of the Kingdom of God.

May Christ, everyone’s joy, the truth, the light and life (Kontakion of the Lazarus Saturday) grant to Your Holiness His blessed and generous gifts, as well the strength of body and spirit for many years of your Patriarchal ministry in the Church of St. Sava.

With brotherly love in the Lord,

+KIRILL

PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
