Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, sent a message of greetings to His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch Iliya II of Georgia on the occasion of the anniversary of his enthronement. The text of the letter is given below.

Your Holiness and Beatitude,

Please accept my respectful greetings with the anniversary of your Patriarchal enthronement.

In your lofty service to the Holy Georgian Church you show to your flock a vivid example of love for God and people that beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things (1 Cor. 13:7). Over the many years of your Primatial ministry, you have become a true spiritual father for the Georgian people, bringing them consolation in afflictions and calling upon them to give thanks to God in the days of joy.

I wholeheartedly wish to Your Holiness and Beatitude physical and spiritual strength and God’s bountiful help in all your good endeavours.

With respectful love in the Lord,

  /+Hilarion/
