On December 3, 2016, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia began his pastoral visit to the diocese of Chersonese.

His Holiness is accompanied by Metropolitan Hilarion, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), Archbishop Sergiy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate administrative secretariat, Bishop Antoniy of Bogorodsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate office for institutions abroad, Archimandrite Philaret (Bulekov), DECR vice-chairman, Archimandrite Savva (Tutunov), deputy chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Andrey Milkin, head of the patriarchal protocol service, and Rev. Alexander Volkov, head of the patriarchal press service.

At Le Bourget airport, His Holiness was welcomed by Bishop Nestor of Chersonese, A. Orlov, Russian ambassador to France, and A. Kuznetsov, Russian permanent representative to UNESCO.

On the first day of his visit Patriarch Kirill will celebrate the divine service at the diocese of Cheronese’s Cathedral Church of the Three Hierarchs.
