On February 19, 2016, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia flew out from Punta Arenas in Chile to the Federative Republic of Brazils’ capital city of Brasilia. The visit of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church to Brazil will be made at the invitation of President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil.

At the Punta Arenas airport, Patriarch Kirill was seen off by Russia’s Ambassador in Chile, V. Trukhanovsky.

During his visit to Brazil on February 19, His Holiness will visit the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the ROC church of Our Lady the Odigitria in Brasilia. In conclusion of the official program, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church will meet with President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil.

On February 20, His Holiness Kirill will hold a prayer service at the Statue of Christ the Redeemer of Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

On February 21, the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee, His Holiness will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at St. Paul’s Cathedral in San Paulo (the Patriarchate of Antioch’s metropolia of San Paulo and Brazil).

After the service, Patriarch Kirill will attend the reception to be given by the Metropolia of San Paulo and Brazil.

In conclusion of his visit to Latin America on February 21, His Holiness will visit the ROC church of the Annunciation in San Paulo.
