On 2 August, the commemoration day of the Holy Prophet Elijah, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia greeted His Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia with his Name Day. The text of the message is given below.
Your Holiness and Beatitude, Beloved in the Lord Brother and Concelebrant,
Please accept my cordial greetings with your Name Day.
Deriving inspiration from the life and deeds of the Holy Prophet Elijah, you carry your Primatial cross with humility and spiritual wisdom, taking unceasing care of your clergy and flock and making much effort that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified among your people (2 Th. 3:1).
May the All-Generous Lord, through the prayers of your heavenly patron, grant you physical and spiritual strength and His all-abundant help in your lofty Patriarchal ministry.
