Metropolitan Hilarion meets with the Ambassador of Luxembourg

On 26 February 2015, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with H.E. Pierre Ferring, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Russian Federation, at the latter’s request. Attending the meeting were archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries; Mr. Miguel Palacio of the same secretariat; and Mr. Patrick Hemmer, counsellor of the Embassy of Luxembourg.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly welcomed the guest. Discussed were the situation of Christians in certain countries of the Middle East and the situation in the southeast of Ukraine.

At the request of the Ambassador of Luxembourg, the DECR chairman told him about the current state of the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue.
