His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message of greeting to Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia on the occasion of the anniversary of his Patriarchal enthronement. The text of the message is given below.

Your Holiness and Beatitude,

Beloved Brother in the Lord and Concelebrant at God’s Altar:

Please, accept my cordial greetings with the anniversary of your elevation to the throne of Primates of the Georgian Orthodox Church.

Since you took up with humility a hard cross of Patriarchal ministry, with all its hardships and burden, you have been following Christ, Who has accomplished the feat of our salvation, and have been striving to be an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Tim 4:12).

Sharing the joy of the Georgian Church over the anniversary of Your Beatitude’s enthronement, I prayerfully wish you physical and spiritual inexhaustible strength and help from the Almighty God in your lofty ministry for the good of the Church and the people of Georgia.

With brotherly love in the Lord,

+Kirill

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia
