On 24 December 2014, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan, head of the Russian and Nor Nakhichevan diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

They were joined in the meeting, which took place at the DECR premises, by hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations, and Mr. Sergei Alferov, a DECR staff member.

Discussed were different aspects of the contemporary life of the Russian and Nor Nakhichevan diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church as well as other problems of mutual interest. Archbishop Ezras told the DECR chairman about the programme for marking the centennial of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
