Bishops’ Council of Ukrainian Orthodox Church concluded with thanksgiving

On August 13, 2014, after the results of the vote of the Bishops’ Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were announced, Metropolitan Onufry of Chernovtsy and Bukovina, elected Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, celebrated a thanksgiving at the Kiev Laura of the Caves’ Cathedral of the Dormition.

In the end of the service, “Many Years of Life” was sung to the elected Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Onufry addressed himself to the congregation with his first primatial homily.

The UOC official website reports that the enthronement of the new Primate will take place on August 17 at the Cathedral of the Dormition. http://news.church.ua
