Representative of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to Primate of Orthodox Church of Antioch meets with Syrian Catholic Patriarch
On 2 July 2014, Hegumen Arseniy (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, visited the Syrian Catholic monastery in the town of Harissa (Lebanon). Located in the monastery is the seminary of the Syrian Catholic Church and the summer residence of Mor Ignatius Joseph III Younan, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of the Syrian Catholic Church.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan, the abbot of the monastery, Hegumen Yohanna, showed Fr. Arseniy around the monastery and told him that living in the abode were several monks from Iraq. Fr. Yohanna also mentioned that students from Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq studied at the seminary located in the monastery.
Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan invited Hegumen Arseniy to share the brotherly repast with him and the brethren. His Beatitude shared with Fr. Arseniy his impressions of his recent pilgrimage to Russia and invited his guest to deliver a lecture at the seminary on the history of the Russian Orthodox Church.
