Your Beatitude:
I respectfully greet you with the commemoration day of the Holy Great Martyr Theodore the Tyron – your Name Day.
The Lord has providentially decreed Your Beatitude, who bear the name of St Theodore, a great intercessor for Christians, to lead God’s Church in Alexandria and Egypt in the present time of trials. Under your primatial leadership, the Church of Alexandria brings the light of Christ’s faith to various countries on the African continent, whose residents regard you as their father in God and loving archpastor.
It is gratifying to see that Your Beatitude’s primatial ministry has been marked by the strengthening of traditionally fraternal relations between the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Moscow Patriarchate. The Russian Orthodox Church was happy to receive you as a high and welcome guest on numerous occasions. The faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church follow closely the life of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and pray for the success of its apostolic mission among indigenous people of Africa.
