Is Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia continues his pilgrimage to the Holy Land. On 13 November 2012, he visited the Monastery of the Twelve Apostles in Tiberias. This ancient monastic abode is located on the shore of the See of Galilee, the site of the third appearance of Jesus Christ to his disciples after the Resurrection. The first church on this site was built by S. Helen Equal-to-the-Apostles in 325. It was devastated by the Persians, the Arabs, and the Crusaders. The Monastery of the Twelve Apostles was built here in the 13th-14th centuries.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church blessed the brethren and pilgrims and donated an “Hodegetria” icon of the Mother of God to the father-superior, Archimandrite Timothy.

His Holiness visited the St. Mary metochion of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission near Tiberias and gave his blessing to mother superior and the sisters.
