His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived in Mount Tabor on November 13, 2012. He was met at the entrance to the Monastery of the Transfiguration by its father superior, archimandrite Hilarion.

Patriarch Kirill celebrated a prayer service, during which he read verses about the transfiguration of the Lord from the Gospel according to Luke. Many pilgrims from Russia prayed at the service.

Singing was the choir of the Sretensky stavropegic monastery. Father superior greeted His Holiness and presented him with a carved cross, a handful of soil from Mount Tabor and the rosary.

His Holiness warmly greeted the worshippers and donated an altar icon-lamp to the monastery and a pectoral cross to father-superior.
