His Grace Bishop Theodore

Elected Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the Coptic Church

Your Grace:

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on your election as Primate of the Coptic Church.

The Coptic Church has elected her new head in the hard time of trials. Her future on the Egyptian land largely depends on your wisdom and spiritual mind. May God grant you to be a worthy successor of the late Patriarchs Cyril VI and Shenouda III. It was though their tireless labours that the Coptic Church has grown and occupied a prominent place among Christian Churches of the world.

Your Grace, I wish you inexhaustible help of the All-Wise and Merciful Lord in your primatial labours in the field of Christ, good health and many years of life.

With love in Christ,

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk

Chairman

Moscow Patriarchate’s

Department for External Church Relations
