DECR chairman received a hierarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church
On September 4, 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Department for External Church Relations, received Metropolitan Kirill of Varna and Velikopeslav, Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
They discussed the state and implementation of joint programs of the Russian and Bulgarian Orthodox Churches.
They were joined in their talk by Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s financial and economic office, Hegumen Philip (Vasiltsev), dean of the Russian Orthodox Church representation in Bulgaria, Archimandrite Feoktist (Dimitrov), dean of the Moscow representation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations, and Mr. K. Bozhilov of a Varna-based Christian foundation and architect N. Iliyev.
