DECR vice-chairman meets with director of Foreign Ministry department for work with expatriates

On July 7, 2011, Hegumen Philaret Bulekov, vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, met with the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry department for work with expatriates, Mr. A. Chepurin, at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

They discussed issues of mutual concern involved in the work with Russian expatriates, including plans for cooperation work to be carried out next year by the Department for External Church Relations together with the Foreign Office department for work with expatriates. They assessed prospects for holding an annual round-table conference on the experience of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and Russian expatriates in various parts of the world.

Present at the meeting were also Mr. M. Kiselev of the DECR secretariat for the far-abroad countries, Ms. I. Yegorova of the foreign office department and Mr. A. Abramov, an assistant to the department’s director.
