On 14 March 2011, the Monday of the second Lenten week, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour.

His Holiness was assisted by a great assembly of bishops and priests. Among the worshippers were Mr. A. Beglov, deputy head of the Presidential Administration, and Mr. L. Slutsky, first vice-chairman of the State Duma committee for international affairs.

Mr. Beglov conveyed to Patriarch Kirill congratulations from President Dmitry Medvedev and his wife.

In his response, His Holiness Kirill thanked the archpastors and clergy for sharing in the divine service on the day so important for him, the Patriarchal Press Service reports.
