DECR Chairman meets with Cardinal Caffarra
On 18 May 2010, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, currently on a visit in Italy, met with Archbishop of Bologna Cardinal Carlo Caffarra.
During a heartfelt talk, Metropolitan Hilarion told Cardinal Caffarra about his pilgrimage to the holy sites of Italy. Discussed was the present situation of the Churches in secular society.
Metropolitan Hilarion presented the Catholic hierarch a copy of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God pained in the Moscow Patriarchate’s workshops. Cardinal Caffarra presented his guest with a book with the prayers to the Mother of God with reproductions of the pictures of the Virgin by renowned Western artists.
Hegumen Filipp (Vasiltsev) of the Church of the Great Martyr Catherine in Rome and deacon G. Guaita of the DECR MP attended the meeting.
