DECR representative attends Easter reception at St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation
Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, attended the Easter reception given on 18 April 2010 by the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation and the Center of Russia’s National Glory on the occasion of the Day of Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women.
Speeches at the reception were devoted, among other things, to the need to actualize the social significance of the feast devoted to the life and service of Orthodox women.
Father Nikolay discussed possible areas of further cooperation between the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations and the St. Andrew Foundation with its leaders including the chairman of its patrons board, Mr. V. Yakunin and its president S. Scheblygin.
Among the guests were Archbishop Nifon of Philippopolis, Patriarch of Antioch’s representative to Patriarch of Moscow, Archbishop Mark of Yegorievsk, Moscow Patriarchate secretary for institutions abroad, Bishop Alexander of Dmitrov, and Archimandrite Zacchaeus Wood, representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Patriarch of Moscow.
