Message by Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations to Patriarch Irinej of Serbia on the occasion of his Day of Baptismal Glory

Below is the message sent by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church on the occasion of his Day of Baptismal Glory:

Your Holiness,

I cordially greet you on the occasion of your Day of Baptismal Glory.

The life of Your Holiness devoted from youth to the work for the good of the Holy Church has always been illuminated with a mental touch with the great Gospel’s story – the miracle of the resurrection of righteous Lazarus, and your Day of Baptismal Glory falls on the celebration of that miracle. The raising of Lazarus who was dead for four days which was accomplished by our Lord the day before his holy saving Passions assure us of the truth of the coming universal resurrection.

May the Life-giver Christ grant you good health and long life and send Your Holiness His all-powerful help in the task of primatial ministry.
