In the evening of February 14, the eve of Lent, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated Vespers with the Office of Forgiveness at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

Concelebrating were Metropolitan Hilarion, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for external church relations, Archbishop Arseny of Istra, Archbishop Alexy of Orekhovo-Zuevo, Bishops Arkady (Afonin) Nikon (Mironov), Savva of Krasnogorsk, Anatoly (Aksyonov), Merkury of Zaraisk, chairman of the Synodal Department for religious education and catechization; Aleksandr of Dmitrov, Ignaty of Bronnitsy, Sergy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate Administrative secretariat; Ieronim (Chernyshov), chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Finance and Economic management; Tikhon of Podolsk, Kirill of Pavlovsky Posad; the sacristan of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour archpriest Mikail Ryazantsev, and clerics of the Cathedral.

At the dismissal the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church addressed the worshippers with his primatial homily, and the Office of Forgiveness was celebrated, press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia reports.
