On 28 January 2010, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church visited the Laura of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius, where he venerated the relics of the founder of the monastery, St. Sergius of Radonezh. According to tradition, His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine visited all churches of the Laura and prayed at the holy sites.

He also visited the Moscow Theological schools, the rector of which he was during ten years, from 1973 to 1982, official site of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reports.

His Beatitude Vladimir was accompanied by his secretary, Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky.
