Metropolitan Hilarion sends greetings to the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America with the first anniversary of his primatial ministry
Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, congratulated His Beatitude Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington and Metropolitan of All America and Canada, on the first anniversary of his enthronement.
Your Beatitude:
I wholeheartedly greet you with the first anniversary of your ministry as Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
While being prayerfully strengthened by the intercession of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and other zealots of piety who shone forth in the American continent, you perform your ministry of the builder of the Church of Christ in America ‘in all godliness and dignity’ ( 1 Tim 2:2). You acquire gracious help in the prayers at God’s altar and tirelessly care for spiritual growth of the American flock which is being established in the faith in Christ through your labours.
I wish Your Beatitude good heath and gracious strengthening of your powers in the difficult and responsible primatial ministry. May the years of Your Beatitude be peaceful and gracious.
With love in the Lord,
+ Hilarion,
Metropolitan of Volokolamsk
Chairman
