I send to you my heartfelt congratulations on the radiant feast of Christ’s Holy Passover:
CHRIST IS RISEN!
‘The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world’ (Jn 1:29) surrenders his Body to be sacrificed on the altar of Golgotha so that he may descend with his most pure soul into the depths of Hades and lead its captives to his unfading light. The Paschal banquet that he has prepared for us heralds the joy of eternal communion with God even now on earth.
Please accept my wishes of the great mercies from the risen Christ for you and all the children of the Church entrusted to you by God.
With constant reverence and love in the risen Lord,
/+Hilarion/
Metropolitan of Volokolamsk
Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s
Department for External Church Relations
