DECR chairman visits Permanent Mission of Russia to UN

On 23 October 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, visited the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations and met with its head, Vitaly Churkin.

DECR chairman told permanent representative of Russia to the UN about the Moscow Patriarchate’s activities in defence of Christians living in different parts of the world, in particular in the Middle East, where they are discriminated and persecuted.

Metropolitan Hilarion and Vitaly Churkin discussed a wide range of problems on the international agenda.
